Sewing Tip: To keep the layers of fleece or flannel from shifting, use a walking foot to ensure even stitching and prevent puckering.

Best Presser Foot: The walking foot is ideal for handling multiple layers of fleece or flannel. It helps to feed the fabric evenly through the machine, reducing the chance of shifting or stretching.

Our Tote Bag project, made from durable cotton fabric, is perfect for carrying groceries and books or even as a stylish everyday bag. The simplicity of this design means it can be customized with different fabrics and embellishments to match the recipient’s personal style. Adding festive fabrics or holiday-themed embellishments can make this gift even more suitable for the season! Sewing Tip: Use a Teflon foot to ensure a clean and easy sewing experience for smooth sewing over different materials like vinyl or leather.

JUKI Tip: Using the T-Gauge on Your JUKI

This month’s tip is all about using our T-Guage with Kelly, our JUKI National Trainer! If you like a consistent seam gauge for your seam allowances and use maybe one, or maybe even two seam allowances the T- Gauge is for you. What we’re going to do in our video below is set this up so we can follow a perfect quarter-inch seam or half-inch seam.

You’ll see this accessory can help with different seams and is easy to attach. We have a mounting plate right here on our TL-18QVP that we’re going to be working on.

To start we’re going to put the two screws in that come with our T-Guage. We’re going to put these in lightly so that we can tighten them after I put my gauge on the quarter-inch seam.

We love the accuracy of the gauge because we can use our fast speed on the TL-18QVP to sew and maintain a consistent seam every time. After you’re set-up, use your seam gauge to double-check the measurement from the needle.

In our video we’re working on the perfect quarter-inch seam! After you decide on spacing, you’re going to tighten those screws and check the accuracy again because it tends to move when you tighten that screw. Ours looks great! Now we will have a consistent 1/4 inch seam all set.

In our video you can watch as we guide our fabric right next to the seam and use the full speed setting on the TL-18QVP.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this tip on how to set up your T-Guage and when to sue it. The Haruka TL-18QVP with our T-Gauge gives you wonderful accuracy for seam allowances! thank you for joining us today and we look forward to seeing you next time on a tip or project with JUKI.

Happy holidays!

JUKI’s Festive DIY Decor Guide

The holiday season is the perfect time to unleash your creativity and add a personal touch to your home with festive décor! Whether you’re a seasoned sewist or a beginner, creating your holiday decorations can be an exciting and rewarding experience.

With JUKI sewing machines by your side, you can craft beautiful, custom pieces that will become cherished keepsakes or thoughtful gifts! This guide explores three festive JUKI sewing projects and offers tips on the best fabrics, colors, and patterns to jazz up your holiday season.

Start your festive décor journey with a charming Santa Ornament! This project is fun and quick to make, perfect for adorning your Christmas tree or adding a magical touch to gift wrapping.

Fabrics: Cotton fabric is a great choice for this project due to its versatility and ease of use. It holds its shape well and allows for vibrant prints and colors. Opt for traditional reds, whites, and blacks to bring Santa to life, and consider adding a touch of metallic or glitter fabric for a festive sparkle.

Colors and Patterns: Traditional red and white are classic for Santa, but you can experiment with other color combinations like burgundy and cream for a vintage look. Polka dots or small checks in contrasting colors can add a playful pattern to Santa’s outfit.

Personalization: Add an extra-special touch by personalizing your Santa Ornament with a name or holiday greeting using the JUKI TAJIMA 8-needle embroidery machine. This machine’s precision and variety of stitch options make it easy to add detailed embroidery to small projects like this.

A beautifully crafted Christmas Tree Skirt is the perfect way to elevate your holiday décor! This project adds a festive flair to your tree and serves as a stylish backdrop for your gifts.

Fabrics: For this project, opt for cotton or quilted fabric, as they are easy to sew and drape well around the base of the tree. Velvet or brocade fabrics can add a luxurious touch, while a backing of felt or flannel can provide stability.

Colors and Patterns: Classic holiday colors like deep green, red, and gold are always a hit, but don’t shy away from modern combinations like silver and blue or rose gold and white. Patterns such as plaid, damask, or even whimsical prints like snowflakes or reindeer can add a unique twist to your tree skirt.

Personalization: Use the RICOH Ri 100 DTG Machine to print a special holiday message, winter patterns, cartoons, or a family name directly onto your fabric. Direct-to-garment printing allows for vibrant, full-color designs that withstand years of holiday celebrations.

Design Features: The JUKI HZL Series offers excellent features for decorative stitching and free-motion quilting, allowing you to add intricate designs and patterns to your tree skirt. With its precision and ease of use, you can create a custom piece that reflects your holiday style.

No holiday décor is complete without a set of beautifully crafted Holiday Stockings. Hang them by the fireplace or along the staircase for a cozy, festive touch!

Fabrics: Choose a sturdy fabric like cotton for the body of the stocking, ensuring it holds its shape when filled with goodies. For the cuff, you can use velvet or faux fur for a more elegant look. Lining your stocking with a contrasting fabric can add an extra element of surprise when the stocking is opened.

Colors and Patterns: Red and green are timeless choices, but you can also explore non-traditional palettes like navy and silver or pastel hues for a more modern aesthetic. Stripes, chevrons, or embroidered snowflakes are popular patterns that add character to your stockings.

Personalization: Using the JUKI TAJIMA 8-needle embroidery machine, embroider each family member’s name on the cuff. You can also experiment with different fonts and thread colors to match your overall holiday theme. You can also go above and beyond and personalize using the RICOH Ri 100 DTG Machine to print photos of family members on their stockings!

Design Features: The JUKI DX QVP Series sewing machines are perfect for adding decorative stitches to your stockings. With a wide array of built-in stitches, you can create borders, snowflake designs, or other festive patterns that make your stockings unique.
