Tutorial Thursday: Gold Access Card Pattern eClipse

This feature allows you to stitch a pantograph and select areas where you do not want the stitching to be. Stitch around appliques, embroidery designs, motifs, or other areas you do not want the machine to stitch the pantograph design in.

For models: J-350QVP & TL-2200QVP with Quilter’s Creative Touch Gold Access Card.

Let’s Sew: Confetti Mat & Mug Rug

Bring a dash of fun to every meal (or morning coffee) with this colorful confetti tutorial! Add a smooth foot that easily goes through vinyl to create a placemat and mug rug.

This presser foot, made of a fluorocarbon resin, smoothly feeds materials such as vinyl-coated material, leather/faux leather, and all types of fabrics that have a “sticky” surface. These fabrics may stick to a standard presser foot and are difficult to sew.

For models: HZL-G120, HZL-G220, HZL-F300, HZL-F400, HZL-F600, HZL-DX7, HZL-DX5, DX-2000QVP, TL-2000Qi, TL-2010Q, TL-18QVP.

Knit Hit

Knit is making a hit next year! Striped knit dresses were seen on the runway in varying lengths and colors from brands like Kate Spade and Altuzarra. Make this figure flattering dress yours by wearing it down with sandals or adding metallic accessories for an evening out.

– Achieve the Look at Home –

Knit can be a tricky fabric to sew without the right tools. Below are 5 tips to achieve this look:

1. Use ballpoint needles sew in between the knit for a beautiful finish.

2. Use thread that has a stretch so it moves in harmony with the fabric. Polyester thread is recommended.

JUKI HZL Series Walking Foot

3. Use an even feed or walking foot. This foot comes with upper and lower feed dogs that evenly feeds fabric and prevents puckers.

Micro Lifter on TL-18QVP

4. If your sewing machine does not come with a walking foot, you may slightly raise the presser foot with the micro-lifter to prevent puckers.

Air Thread Overlock Serger

5. Select the right stitch: zig zag or triple straight stitch that allows your fabric to move without popping a seam. You may also use a serger.
